Re: Oak Park Heights — Stillwater Ford: Amended CUP and Lighting Variance File #
798.02 -01.09
Dear Kris Danielson and the City of Oak Park Heights Planning Commission,
After review of the City Planners Report in regards to the above referenced Variance I
would urge you to not make any excel2tlons to the current oak Park Heights Lighting
Ordinance in regards to the above.
Another significant point is that once the Snow Falls the Light Intensity gets magnified
drastically. Does the current city ordinance take into consideration this with Photometric
Plan?
As a resident in Autumn. Ridge and also a previous Panning Commission Member I was
very cautious in regards to the Lighting ordinance that was being drafted at that time.
The current lighting that is at Stillwater Ford is very much an influence on the Autu
Ridge Neighborhood and is drastically over Powered especially on the South and South
East directly in line with the Autumn Ridge Neighborhood.
I respectfully request that the Planning Commission take Snow Cover and the Current
City ordinance into consideration and insure that No variance is accepted. with
continued development in this area we must insure that No Exceptions are made to this to
insure that the City does not establish any precedence in regards to this. I would suggest
that the City Planners Report would be accurate in his Recommendations and Conclusion
provided that the Snow Cover Issue is also taken into consideration.
Thank --you for your consideration in regards to this matter I would have been present in
person however I asn traveling this week. If I may also ask that Kris advises me in
letterform or by telephone to the outcome in regards to this. Also please advise me if
there will be any future meetings before the Planning Commission and when this will
appear on the City Councils Meeting for action.

Kirk Schultz
