Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 Re: January 14, 2005 Fire Damage to Garage/Barn Dear Mr. Hellerman: I am writing to you in response to the fire that occurred to your garage/barn on January 14, 2005 at 15105 63`d St. N. and per our conversation. Fire Chief, Matt Bell and I shall schedule a site investigation of the damaged structure next Thursday or Friday. Please leave the side door and front doors open so that we may gain access. At the time of the site investigation, it will be determined what, if any, measures are needed to make the structure building code and local ordinance compliant. City ordinance requires that all vehicles stored upon property within the city limits be operable and licensed. Per our conversation you may have one vehicle that is not. This vehicle will have removed or made operable within 30 days of the date of this letter. Also, there is a large amount of storage items/debris on the property, which must be removed. All items are to be relocated off the premises or stored in your home within 30 days of the date of this letter. Finally City Ordinance does require that the exterior of homes be kept in good maintenance. The paint on your home is peeling and is in a state of disrepair, subjecting the siding to moisture, which ultimately leads to a variety of building code repair needs. You are being requested to address the home exterior and return it to a properly maintained state (painted, stained or resided) no later than June 30, 2005, after which time the City will be required to take further action. As per your conversation with City Administrator, Eric Johnson and myself, this morning, it was agreed that the above-requested inspection and noted issues would be addressed.
