(E-mail); Mark Vierli (E-mail); Katherine O.VVidin (E-mail) Subject: Stillwater Motors Parking Lot Addition We have reviewed storm water runoff calculations and preliminary development plans submitted to our office by DavidOupay and have the following comments/recommendations: Site Drainage Report: ° The | |aU themselves b| submitted. In two different sections of the report ( Existin g Conditions and Water Qualit Calculations the Kern Center Pond is referred to as the re pond developed to handle rate, volume and water q ualit y issues for area businesses. While this is true ( or is in the process the report incorrectl states the issues noted above for this parkin lot expansion are also accommodated by the Kern Center Pond. This area drains to the north to W9 DDT property (to a culvert under from the south ditch to the north ditch - then westerl to the existin ravine and as such, needs to be anal as a stand alone development. The report states that an NPDES Permit will not be re A Brown's Creek Watershed District permit and a,mnuO/ permit will, however, oe Site Plans: 8tormSewer/Ponding: The U parkin area will re rip rap and/or other measures of erosion control. The proposed 12" HDPE pipe and flared end section outlettin to MnDOT propert calls for 3 cubic y ards of rip rap. We recommend 5 CY minimum (prefer - - ' will need _. —._-. minimum requirements. Sanitary Sewer Service: " The new sanitary sewer service will be located through and replacing existing septic tanks. Anohe on the plans oails for connecting the sewer service line to existing septic tanks and setting o|aanoutaasrequired. It is unclear whether the existing septic tanks will remain in service or be removed/abandoned. If they are toberemoved/abandoned. proper MN Department of Health procedures will need tobefollowed. Water Service: ° Fire Department whether (temporar hydrants will be required along or at the end of the proposed water service.
