MEMORANDUM DATE: January 25, 2016 TO: Scott D. Richards FROM: Lynn Bruns SUBJECT: Pizza Ranch —Oak Park Heights Drainage Maps &Calculations In conjunction with the site plans, drainage maps and calculations have been completed for the site plan review of the proposed Pizza Ranch in the City of Oak Park Heights. Water quantity calculations were completed using hydraulic models developed by utilizing the design data and the HydroCAD computer modeling system. Hydrographs for existing and proposed scenarios were generated and routed through these models using the Atlas-14 rainfall distribution. Stormwater management requirements for the site has been satisfied through an existing regional pond located to the south. On site BMP's will consist of grass swales and a flat sedimentation area to provide some additional pre-treatment for runoff from the site. The existing site is undeveloped greenspace and has been separated into three drainage areas. The majority of the site (EX DA-2) drains to the existing State Trunk Highway No. 5 ditch. The ditch slopes to the south and outlets into the existing regional pond to the south of the site. Another portion of the site (EX DA-1)drains into an existing swale which also outlets to the existing regional pond. A small part of the site (EX DA-3) drains to the west via overland flow and eventually reaches the regional pond. An offsite drainage area (EX DA-4) consisting of Morning Dove Avenue and a portion of the existing bank property to the north has been included in the watershed and also currently drains to the west of the site. This drainage area will be re-routed in the proposed design so that stormwater runoff will travel through the proposed swale to be constructed in the drainage easement. The ultimate outfall of the drainage area will be unchanged. A detailed map depicting the existing drainages areas is enclosed. The proposed site will consist of a 5,705 S.F building, parking lot, landscaped areas and drainage swale. Two drainage areas (DA-2 and DA-3) will drain to the east into the existing State Trunk Highway No. 5 ditch. Two areas (DA-5 and DA-6) will drain through curb cuts on the south end of the parking lot and into the proposed swale. A small portion of the site (DA-4) will drain to the curb cut located in the cul de sac of Morning Dove Avenue. The rest of the site (DA-7) will drain directly into the proposed swale via overland flow. The off site flow to the proposed swale through the curb cut in the Morning Dove Avenue cul de sac (DA-1) has been included to properly size the swale to be constructed in the drainage easement. A detailed map depicting the proposed drainages areas is enclosed.
