Also copied on the letter were the Post Office's subcontractor - ECI Building Contractors who has been paying their bills to the City and personally notified were their architects, Rafferty Rafferty Tollefson. The letter was re -sent to the Post Office via priority mail on Monday this week, since that time I have also called the Post Office, their architects, and the building contractor regarding the timely nature of this road extension request. I will continue to keep you posted on this project and will let you know as soon as I receive a response. Thanks. We can not sign off on this contract until we have the escrow monies. Since we didn't get the letter to the Post office until this week, we have a problem. It was the 7 -24 Council meeting that the project was approved contingent on receiving the funds within 6 weeks which means we need the money in here by 9- 5 -01. If the Post office waits their 30 or 35 days (whichever it is), they will not have the escrow here in time and we will have to rebid. Dennis says the asphalt Co. will not lay asplalt after September, so we really have a problem. Mark wants you to call the Post Office and explain the situation to them and see if we can get the escrow money in here ASAP. Keep me posted as to what is going on here. Thanks, Judy 8/20/01
