Specialist for the United states Postal service, that a site within the Kern Center Business
Park has been selected as the future location for their carrier- facilit A co of this le

and a map of the Kern Center is enclosed with this memo. As rovided in postal

regulations, the city has 30 days from the receipt of the letter to respond to their office.
City staff has met informally with representatives of the property owners of the site who
have outlined a proposed Business Park development to occur at the same location. The
plans, while preliminary, could easily accommodate the Postal service as p art of an
integrated development.
The city of oak Park Heights ha
as been solicited to offer its formal comments regarding the

project. Staff recommends that the following items be addressed:
The City's preference for the facility to be located within a locally developed ed and owned
business park at the same location vs. a building owned by p the tax exempt Postal
Service.
• Adherence to our Design Guidelines and conformity within the B -3 Zoning District.
The official naming of the carrier facility to be "oak Park Heights Carrier Annex ".

After reviewing other sites, the Postal service has decided to select the property lo p p y on the
west side of Memorial Avenue N, labeled site "A" on the ma sent with the previous letter.

As provided in postal regulations, your office may offer comments about the selected .
location within
the next 30 days. Comments should be directed to vice President Facilities and addressed to my
