This plan now provides a total of 350 caliper inches of trees. Kathy's 9118/00 letter indicates that 744 caliper inches are required to be provided as a result of the trees lost due to the pond requirements. Unfortunately, there is not enough room on site to provide the required number of inches. As a result, the USPS has agreed to pay the City the fee option offered by Kathy in her letter. This will amount to 394 inches x $50 /inch = $19 This fee will be paid through the building contractor, ECI Building Contractors. Please review this plan, and let us know if it looks acceptable, or if you have any comments that we can incorporate into the plan. We can then proceed with the construction of the plan. We look forward to your prompt response. Thank you. They agree to follow our tree preservation ordinance and will plant trees as well as pay the fee option offered by our tree inspector. The amount of this option is $19,700, which will be paid by ECI Building Contractors. If the City approves the landscape plan with the fee option, I would recommend depositing the $19,700 into the Budgeted Projects Fund to be earmarked for tree planting.
