HomeMy WebLinkAboutweekly notes December 28 2012 CITY OF OAK PARK HEIGHTS Memo/TO: City Council Members FROM: Eric Johnson, City Administrator WEEKLY.NOTES – December 28, 2012 Zoning / Development Items The Building Official has sent a Nuisance Ordinance notice to 14836 56th Street regarding and accumulation of boxes and debris. The City has been approached by the Paws and Claws owner now located in the City of Stillwater to possibly locate in OPH in the small strip center where Subway is. Unfortunately, this operation boards dogs for overnight stays and thus becomes defined as a KENNEL. If their operation only included dog day care and other services such as haircutting / grooming, the B-2 Zoning district would be able to accommodate the activity. Staff will be meeting with these owners in the coming weeks to discuss options. It is possible the applicant may seek a text amendment to the B-2 District to allow some form of overnight Kenneling. St. Croix River Crossing: As directed by the City Council, I have communicated with MNDOT – Dave Hall on the items related to deck colors and hand rails. OTHER ITEMS: I have enclosed a listing of the 4th Quarter Tax Petitions as received by Washington County. I have enclosed a listing of the recent foreclosure notices of properties in the City as well as a general report from Washington County the foreclosure outlook. Washington County – Summary of Proceedings - Dec 6th, 11th and 18th. Council Member McComber did provide two items: Information on her LMC – appointment as Vice-Chair of the National Transportation Infrastructure and Services Policy Committee as well as the 2013 Small Cities Council Steering Committee. The City Hall HVAC issues has been addressed temporarily; it appears that there is some leaking piping associated with the installation of the new Copeland compressors, however the compressors themselves appear to be operational. Jorgenson Construction has acknowledged that they have some responsibility in this repair and have been on site today. We will continue to work through the issue, but it appears to not be too serious. 651-253-7837 Call Anytime.
