OPH Staff -
1 have looked over the submittals from n Homes and FFE regarding the proposed BoutvveU'sLending &
McKean Square Historic Site, the tunnel and parking lot on the north side of 58th St., and the 58th St. Business/Residential
development. I visited the sites and have the following observations and comments regarding the submittals:
1. Boutwell's Landing & McKean Square Historic Site
a. tree removal - the plan for tree removal lists 23, 8-in. red pirie to be removed. Upon visiting the site there appear to
be more than 23 Scot pine in the area to be removed and a number of these trees are 10 or more inches in
diameter.
A list of trees to be removed should be included with plans for this p ject and the trees to be removed should be
iternized by tree no. species and size. Trees do not need to have numbered tags, but listing should go from west
to east and
trees to be removed should be marked with paint or flagging, or tree removal area should be delineated with
stakes in the field. Trees observed during the site visit were in fair to poor condition with signs of stress and attack
by the
Zimmerman pine rnothondwellow'beUiedsapauokar
b. landscape plan - there was no landscape plan included for this landscaping planned? If so,
a landscape plan for the area should be submitted, including detail for the proposed rain garden.
2. Boutwell's 58th St.
a. Plan C1 .1 Removal Plan (actually C1 .2) does not include trees located at the NW corner of 58th St. and
Nova Scotia Ave. - are any of these trees to be removed for this project?
b. Landscape Plan there are plantings depicted in the concept Iayout but no Iandscape detail or plan shown.
Is the parking lot to be landscaped? A landscape plan should be submitted if this project goes forward.
