Bonestroo Ir We have reviewed the construction documents for the Boutwell's-58 1h Street Tunnel Project as submitted b Folz, Freeman, Erickson, Inc. Followin are our comments and/or recommendations. I A hatch pattern has been added that identifies the replacement of the bituminous pathwa on the south side of 58th Street N. This hatch should be identified in the le 2. The at- g rade cross walks shall have si at the crossin and prior to the crossin The si as the crosswalks shall be as follows: • W 11 -2A (36 x 36) • W 16 -2A (24 x 18) • S2-P2 (24x18). 3. A crosswalk has been added on 58`h Street at the west side of Norwich Avenue N. At this location a pedestrian ramp is re on the south side of 58th Street. 1. On the Utilit Notes chan the classification of the 1 and 18" RCP from Class IV to Class V. Detailed desi drawings for the pedestrian tunnel have been submitted to the City and are currentl bein reviewed. 2. The will be a concentrated load on the existing 24" RCP storm sewer, How will this load be bridged to protect the integrity of the storm sewer? �kntot( ) 1. The detail for the tun,nel shows a drain tile along the footings. Where is the discharge point for the drain tile? �Fi rj;:atrr� 1.On detail 1/C7.3 the 4Sbend should be extended from 5'to15' beyond the edge of the footing. This length is necessary to avoid differential lateral pressures on the tunnel if in the future, excavat of the water main is required. General Comments I . The followin items still need to be submitted for review: a Copy of the Approval letter from the Middle St. Croix Watershed. b, Cop of an comments from the Browns Creek Watershed District. The plans will require further review when items discussed in this letter are submitted.
