HomeMy WebLinkAbout15-04-18 RESOLUTION NO. 15-04-18 CITY COUNCIL CITY OF OAK PARK HEIGHTS WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING FINDINGS OF FACT AND RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL THAT THE CITYWILL TEMPORARILY SU'S END F7Q1 uORCMENT OF CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE SPECIAL EVENT/TEPv FORARY SIGN REGULATIONS (SECTION 401.15.G.8)WITHIN THE HIGHNVAY36COORIDOR WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Oak Park Heights, at its Febniary 26, 2013 meeting, discussed providing special events/temporary sign allowances for business in the Highway 36 corridor impacted the St Croix River Crossing project; and WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that NN ith the anticipated construction activities, businesses adjacent to the north and south lrontage roads will suffer from lack of visibility and should be given special pro\ isions for signage, at least on a temporary basis;and WHEREAS, the City Council shall consider by resolution that the City will temporarily suspend enforcement of certain prop inions of the special events/temporary sign regulations (Section 401.15.G.8); and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF OAK PARK HEIGHTS THAT TF E ('!- V �--OUNCIL APPROVES THE FOLLOWING: The City Council ofthe City ofOak Park l leights susperuls enforcen-ent of the special events/temporary sign regulations in accordance witli the following conditions: 1. The area is limited to those businesses in the B-2 General Business District, the B-3 High�z ay Business and Warehousing District, the B-4 Limited Business District, and the R-B Residential BLisiness Transitional District from the westerly City limits to Beach Road. 2. Only those businesses directly abutting(making contact with)Highway 36 and the North and South Frontage Roads of Highway 36 are subject to this allowance. 3. The suspension in enforcement applies only to Section 401.15.G.8b related to number of events and time limitations and to Section 401.15.G.8.d.4)related to banners. As a result, the businesses impacted by this suspension will be allowed banners continually during the time limits as specified. 4. The suspension in enforcement will apply from May 1,2014 to October 31, 2014, unless an extension is granted by the City Council. 5. Extension.Approved Though December 315`, 2014 b.
