Present: Vice Chair Weyer, Commissioner Johnson, Commissioner Norton, City Administrator Johnson, Public Works Director Kegley, and Arborist Danielson. Absent: Commissioner Chirhart and Commission- Liaison McComber. II. Approval of Agenda: Vice Chair Weyer, seconded by Commissioner Norton, moved to approve the Agenda. Carried 4-0. III. Approve Parks Commission Minutes-- September 19 2016: Commissioner Norton, seconded by Vice Chair Weyer, moved to approve the Minutes. Carried 4-0. IV. Department/Commission Liaison Reports: A. Arborist: Arborist Danielson reported that the fall 2016 City boulevard and park tree work was in progress, and the contractor was hoping to have all work completed by the end of that week. B. Public Works Director: Public Works Director Kegley reported they were accepting applications for rink attendants and had received four applications. He said they were looking to fill six positions. C. Other/ Commission Liaison Reports: City Administrator Johnson reported that the two park shelters were complete at Oak Park Crossing Park. He stated he would work with Public Works Director Kegley to order picnic tables. Johnson reported that Commission-Liaison McComber could not attend the Parks Commission meeting that evening because she was attending the National League of Cities Conference. Johnson also reported that the Stillwater mountain biking group has spent a significant amount of time on the trails, but they were not open yet. V. Visitors/Public Comment: None VI. Public Hearin?: None VII, New Business: A. 2017 Parks Commission Mcctin�_j Dates: Commissioner Norton, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, moped to approve the meeting dates. Carried 4-0. Commissioner Norton suggested the Parks Commission discuss the splash pad, including possible sites, at the next meeting. Chair Bye suggested a Parks Commission worksession to discuss. Page 3 of 6 Parks Commission Minutes November 21, 2016 Page 2 of 2 Commissioner Norton, seconded by Vice Chair Weyer, moved to set a worksession for December 19 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the splash pad in further detail. Carried 4-0. VIII. Old Business: A. Cover Park Update: City Administrator Johnson reported that the City Council met with the architect from Stantec to discuss the scope of the project. He stated there was still a lot of refinement, such as location and trail connections, and they were looking to bid the project out in February. IX. Informational: A. Next Meeting: Monday, December 19, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at City Fall with a worksession at 6:00 p.m. B. Council Representative: Tuesday, December 13 — Commissioner Johnson X. The rinks are open seven days per week with the exception of the Christmas Holiday. Rink hours at both parks are as follows: Monday— Friday 3:00 PM — 9:00 PM Christmas Break Hours: 9:00 AM — 9:00 PM All week Saturday and Sunday 9.00 AM — 9:00 PM Because a couple of applicants can work only limited hours I've selected all seven applicants to work as rink attendants.
