Approval is contingent upon meeting the requirement(s) listed below. A copy of the approved plans and this report must be retained at the project location. INSPECTIONS: All plumbing installations must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. No plumbing work may be covered prior to inspection. The contractor/installer must obtain all required inspection permits from the city of Oak Park Heights Building Official. REQUIREMENT(S): 1. The specified Mainline 629E-CP mop sink faucet has an optional threaded outlet. Hose thread water outlets must be provided with ASSE 1052 non-removable hose bibb-type backflow preventers,ASSE 1011 non- removable hose bibb type vacuum breakers, or ASSE 1001 atmospheric vacuum breakers installed at least 6 inches above the highest point of usage on the discharge side of the last control valve(see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Sections 603.5.7 and 301.1.2). 2. The lavatories must have an ASSE 1070 mixing valve limiting the hot water temperature to 110 degrees Fahrenheit or less(see Minnesota Rules,Chapter 4714, Section 421.2). 3. The water connection to the automatic clothes washer must be protected by the use of an air gap or an approved backflow preventer(see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Sections 602.3). 4. A full-way valve must be provided on the cold water supply line to the water heater(see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Section 606.2). 5. Changes in direction in drainage piping must be made by appropriate use of wyes and bends(see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Section 706.0). Sanitary tees are not allowed where the direction of flow changes from either vertical to horizontal or horizontal to horizontal. 6. It is recommended that a cleanout be provided where new waste and vent piping connects with existing plumbing to facilitate required testing of the new installation. 7. All sanitary drainage pipe within the building must be pitched at'/4-inch per foot minimum (see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Section 708.1). Where site conditions preclude this slope, pipes 4-inch and larger may be sloped at Vs-inch per foot where approved by the administrative authority. 8. Cross-link polyethylene(PEX)water service or water distribution systems must meet Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Section 605.10 and Table 604.1: a. The tubing must comply with ASTM F876,ASTM F877, or CSA B 137.5. AWWA C904 PEX may be used for cold water applications only(see Table 604.1). b. ASTM F876 tubing must be marked with the standard of the fittings to be utilized. This information can be provided to you in alternative formats(Braille,large print or audio). The fittings must be marked with ASSE 1061,ASTM F877,ASTM F 1807,ASTM F 1960,ASTM F1961,ASTM F2080,ASTM F2159,ASTM F2735, or CSA B 137.5. 9. ABS drain, waste,and vent systems shall comply with Minnesota Rules,Chapter 4714,Table 701.1, Section 705.1. and Installation Standard 5: a. Pipe must meet ASTM Standard D1527, D2661, F628, or F1488. b. Fittings must meet ASTM D2661 or ASTM D3311. c. Joints must be mechanical or push-on utilizing an elastomeric seal,or solvent welded. Schedule 80 pipe may be threaded. d. Above-ground horizontal pipes must be supported at each horizontal branch connection. Restraint fittings or a minimum 24-inch offset using 45-degree fittings should be provided every 30 feet. 10. Above-grade horizontal plumbing piping must be supported as follows(see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Table 313.1 and the applicable installation standard): a. Plastic drain,waste, and vent pipe: at least every 48 inches. b. PEX pipe: 32 inches for 1-inch and smaller. 11. Verify that the existing water supply and waste systems are sized to accommodate the added fixtures(see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Sections 610.7 through 610.12 and 703.0). 12. The water distribution system shall be disinfected per Minnesota Rules,Chapter 4714, Section 609.9. 13. The plumbing system shall be tested in accordance with Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Sections 609.4 and 712.0. 14. The plans and specifications were prepared by a licensed plumber. Only the plumber who has prepared the plans may use the plans for construction. If another plumber is contracted to install the plumbing,they must submit their own plans and specifications for the project. NOTE(S): 1. The scope of this project consists of the remodeling of an existing building. The plumbing installation includes hair wash sinks, a hand sink, clothes washer, service sink, floor drain, and 50-gallon water heater. 2. This facility is served by existing municipal water and sewer services. Authorization for installation may be withdrawn not undertaken within one year. Additional recommendations or requirements may be made if changed conditions or additional information make improvements necessary.
