Lighting
1. The Planning Commission was favorable to the light fixture proposed and preferred the
option that included the 14 foot pole design. Staff indicated that the other option
included 30 foot poles that were not allowable under the Zoning Ordinance
requirements. VSSA had indicated that the pole light would be reduced to 24 feet in
conformance with the ordinance.

C. Continued: P-I-,- Public I Institutional District Establishment:
Cit Planner Richards provided an overview of his report, notin chan made as a
result of the information compiled from previous meetin and further noted how other
sections of the ordinance would be affected b establishment of the district. He also
distributed land use maps and discussed the desi of them with the Commission.
Chair Hedlund opened the hearin for public comment. As there were no visitors to
the public hearin Commissioner Dahl seconded b Commissioner Wasescha
moved to close the public hearin Carried 4-0.
Commission discussion ensued as to various issues and clarification of the proposed
ordinance.
Commissioner Dahl seconded b Commissioner Wasescha moved to recommend
approval of the draft ordinance as presented b the Cit Planner. Carried 4-0.
New Business:
A. Ordinance Re the Placement of Public Utiliti
Communit Development Director Danielson provided an overview of the matter,
discussin relevant issues and considerations such as developable propert and
re for new development to install under utilities as well as the
proceedin necessar to implement such a chan
Commission discussion ensued as to clarification of subdivision 3 as it relates to ri
of-wa and easement as well as overhead power lines, percenta of replacement, and
other related issues.
Commissioner Dahl seconded b Commissioner Dw moved to reconnnend
that the Cit Council approve the ordinance and that the Cit Council move forward
with the ordinance throu the public hearin process. Carried 4-0.

Cit Planner Richards and Communit Development Director Danielson reviewed
revised li and si plans with the Commission. Discussion ensued as to size
and scale of li canop pedestrian scale li color options and the parks name
su as well as other related issues.
It was the consensus of the Commission to recommend Cit Council approval of (1)
si and encoura a more distinctive name for the park and cit lo placement
on the desi and (2) 14-foot pole desi for li and encoura the luminaries
desi with lens not extendin below the fixture.
