Re: Burger King Restaurant, Oak Park Heights, MN.
Dear Mr. Doble:
The following information is for your use and to forward to the building owner and City of Oak
Park Heights building official.
I have reviewed the photographs of fire damage at the play-land that you forwarded to me and
have determined the following.
Fortunately the structure did not experience any significant damage. The photographic evidence
indicates moderate fire temperatures, these temperatures were not high enough to cause damage
to the steel column. The steel column shows no evidence of distortion or weakening due to the
heat of the fire, in fact most of the primer paint coating is still intact, (the primer paint will be
consumed by fire prior to weakening of the steel).
It would be prudent but not required to repaint the steel column with a rust inhibiting primer
where the paint was scorched. Beyond that no other repair to the structure is necessary to return
the building to its previous condition.
Sincerely,
