Please see the photo below. The condition of the roof and eave at this area and presents a potential safety hazard to the occupancy of the residence and is in violation of 2015 Minnesota State Building Code Section 1300.0180 Unsafe Buildings and Structures.A copy of this Code section is enclosed. While it is possible that you are already aware of this situation and are taking the steps to correct, it this letter serves as the City's request that this be repaired as soon as possible, but no later than January 31, 2018. A MN licensed contractor is required to perform the repair and a permit shall be required. Structural engineering may be requested, should the extent of the damage necessitate it. Please contact me to let me know what the plan is for the repair at your earliest. Should you desire to meet on site, I am happy to accommodate you.
