Call to Order: Chair Bye called the meeting to order. Present: Vice Chair Weyer, Commissioner Chirhart, City Administrator.Johnson, Public Works Director Kegley. Arborist Danielson, and Commission-Liaison Liljegren. Absent: Commissioners Norton and Johnson. it. kpproe al of Agenda: Commissioner Chirliart, seconded by Vice Chair Weyer, moved to approve the Agenda. Carried 3-0. III. Approve Parks Commission Minutes— September 18, 2017: Commissioner Chirhart, seconded by Vice Chair Weyer, moved to approve the Minutes. Carried 3-0. IV. Department/Commission Liaison Reports: A. Arborist: Arborist Danielson reported that vegetation management of the prairie restoration areas was completed for the year. She said the final weed control visit of the year took place on September 27 at both sites. Danielson also reported that the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources updated the oak wilt risk from low to safe on November 13, so it was the best time to trim any oak trees. B. Public Works Director: Public Works Director Kegley reported that the volunteer group from Andersen Windows spread 125 cubic yards of mulch at Brekke Park. He also reported that the rink attendant positions were open. C. Other/ Commission Liaison Reports: City Administrator Johnson reported that Cover Park was essentially done, and it was expected the door would be open the fallowing week. V. Visitors/Public Comment: None V1. Public Hearings: None VII. New Business: A. 2018 Budget and Capital Positions: City Administrator Johnson explained the 2018 Parks Budget, Park Dedication Fund, and the City Budgeted Projects Funds. He suggested the Parks Commission meet in a worksession to review a previous year's project priority list and discuss future capital projects. Chair Bye, seconded by Vice Chair Weyer, moved to set a worksession prior to the December 18 meeting at 6:00 p.m. with the regular meeting following. Carried 3-0, B. 2018xParks Commission Meeting Dates: Chair Bye reported that the Parks Commission meets on the third Monday of each month with the exception of January Page 3 of 4 Parks Commission Minutes November 20, 2017 Page 2 of 2 and February, wherein they will meet the fourth Mondays due to holidays. VIII. Old Business: None IX. Informational: A. Worksession: Monday, December 18, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall B. Regular Meeting: Monday, December 18, 2017 following the Worksession at City Hail C.
