INSPECTIONS: All plumbing installations must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. No plumbing work may be covered prior to inspection. The contractor/installer must obtain all required inspection permits from the city of Oak Park Heights Building Official. REQUIREMENT(S): 1. All plumbing shall be installed in accordance with the 2015 Minnesota Plumbing Code(see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714). 2. A building's vent pipes must have total cross-sectional area not less than the area of the largest required building sewer(see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Section 904.1). 3. All floor drains must be individually vented(see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Sections 418.2 and 1002.1). The trap to vent distance must meet the requirements of Table 1002.2. This shall include the floor drain shown on Detail 6/P2. 4. There is a small length of 6 inch horizontal rainwater leader prior to a 6 inch vertical downspout that is serving 6,722 square feet of roof area on Detail 3/P2. Since a 6 inch horizontal leader can only accommodate 5,350 square feet at a slope of 1/8 inch per foot, this leader is undersized. 5. If a hydromechanical grease interceptors is installed it must be approved by the administrative authority, may serve only fixtures discharging greasy waste, and must comply with Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Section 1014.2. No food waste disposer or dishwasher may be connected unless specifically required or permitted by the administrative authority. The installation must include: a. The interceptor should comply with ASME A112.14.3, CSA B481, or PDI G-101 and be so marked on a permanent identification label. b. The minimum interceptor rating in gallons per minute is the volume of the connected sink compartments in cubic inches multiplied by a fill factor of 0.75,divided by 231 and adding any equipment discharge. For a two-minute drain period, divide the sink calculation by two and add any equipment discharge. c. The interceptor and flow control must be readily accessible. Vents serving external flow controls must connect to the sanitary vent system. d. The interceptor discharge line must be vented. e. A 15-minute manometer test at 1-inch of water column per Section 712.5 is required. f. The interceptor must be maintained in efficient operating condition. In no case shall water from roofs be allowed to flow upon the public sidewalk(see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Section 1101.1). Verify that the discharge from all rainwater conductors will meet this requirement. 7. The installation of reduced pressure zone assemblies, double check valve assemblies, pressure vacuum breakers, spill-proof vacuum breakers, reduced pressure detector fire protection assemblies,or double check detector fire protection assemblies is permitted only when a testing and inspection program acceptable to the administrative authority is provided(see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714, Section 603.5.23). The administrative authority and water purveyor must be notified prior to installation. Devices must be tested upon initial installation and not less than annually, and records must be kept. Installations must be at least 12 inches and not more than 5 feet above the finished floor or ground level unless a permanent platform for access is provided. A backflow prevention fact sheet may be viewed at: http://www.dli.mn.gov/CCLD/PDF/fs_backflow.pdf 8. Public-use lavatories must have an ASSE 1070 mixing valve limiting the hot water temperature to 110 degrees Fahrenheit or less(see Minnesota Rules,Chapter 4714, Section 421.2). NOTE(S): 1. The scope of this project consists of constructing a new building.
