RE:Signage Brightness
Dear Mr.Swanson:
The City has received concerns from area residents that the"LED"signage at Pizza Ranch is too bright and effects
drivers view of the roadway—as it is close to eye level. Also, these comments have been that the sign is so bright that
sign itself cannot be read.
While these can be subjective,we would offer that you consider the following options.
1. Reduce the overall brightness of the sign by reducing the intensity- this may be adjustable.
2. Not use a white-background with dark lettering, rather use the black field or perhaps cool coloring(blue and
greens)or reds, with light lettering as the contrasting text.
3. Tum off the sign after closing or leaving only a red lettering on a black-field.
At this time, the City has not implemented any protocols for review of your signage permits nor your site plan that may
require such dimming or changes.Instead,we would ask that you proactively consider some of these options. We
would suspect that the concerns received would be reduced if some of these are implemented and managed.
We hope urtfew location is a success and is a fixture in the community for the long term.
