Dear Mr. Junker,
I wrote to you December 8, 2017 regarding the poor condition of the roof and failing roof eave
structure at the east side of the house. You responded to my compliance request, stating that you
would be having it attended to as requested and felt you could do so by January 31, 2018 as
requested. As we know this did not occur—likely in great part due to the weather and you did
contact me with a request for extension to the end of February which was granted verbally.
At this time, I have observed to activity at the home suggesting visits for repair quotes to the roof
structure, nor have I heard from any contractors to secure the required work permit and provide
the repair plan for the home. The roof and eave remain in poor and unsafe condition.
This letter is the City's second attempt to gamer compliance for this safety violation to be
addressed. A repair plan and work permit shall be submitted to my attention at the City of
Oak Park Heights, by a MN State licensed residential contractor, and the work commenced
no later than April 12,2018.
While, I am optimistic that you will have response timely and satisfactorily comply with the
repair request,please be advised that if a work permit has not been received and issued by the
City and work has not meaningfully commenced by April 12, 2018, the City shall pursue legal
remedies to have the safety violation remedied. Any expenses related to such action and/or
remedy shall be assessed back to the property.
