Enterprises Inc, (west of 5670 Memorial .Ave. N.) As requested, I reviewed this development application in relation to the City's Tree Protection Ordinance 1307. I have received and reviewed a tree inventory prepared by Polz, Freeman, Dupay and Associates regarding tree removal and retention on this property. On 4123, I ,visited the property to confirm the tree inventory and check species and position of several trees. Based on my visit, I have revised the tree inventory, including removal and retention and calculated the amount of tree replacement that would be required per the ordinance. The calculated amount of replacement inches is 276 inches. (this is less than the 357 inches calculated using the original tree inventory submitted by the applicant). The replacement inches would equal 138, 2 in. diameter replacement trees. These replacement trees could be planted on the subject property, if there is room, or elsewhere within the City. The applicant also has the option to pay cash in lieu of tree planting, and this is calculated at $50.00 per replacement inch. The amount of cash payment would be = $13,800.. It is my understanding that if cash in lieu of planting is chosen by the applicant, the funds would need to be paid to the City prior to tree removal on site. Tree protection fencing will also be required on this project to protect trees that are indicated to be saved on the plan and also to protect oaks on the property to the NE that could be affected by construction. activity. This fencing should consist of 5 ft. orange snow- fencing on f ft. steel posts (mounted every 6--5 ft. on center) and it should be placed a minimum of 10 feet out from the trunks of trees to be protected. It should be out farther from trunks of trees greater than 20 in. in diameter. This fencing should be in place before any construction activity, other than tree removal, takes place. To minimize damage to large trees which are indicated to be saved, no construction activity, including vehicle traffic, should take place in the area under the branch spread of the trees. Tree Replacement Calculation. (using equation from Ordinance 1307) ((277!369) x 1.33) x 277 = 276 hid W.A.T.E. Enterprises — 2 W.A.T.E.
