HomeMy WebLinkAbout18-01-04 RESOLUTION: 18-01-04 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION FOR MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WHO SERVE AS THE CITY'S NON-ELECTED MEMBER TO THE JOINT CABLE COMMISSION IN THE ATTENDANCE OF REGULAR MEETINGS. WHEREAS,the City Council has the authority by statute and by ordinance to establish compensation for members of the Park,Planning and other public commissions and entities serving the City of Oak Park I Tei-lits that help cru ide public policy;and, WHEREAS,the City Council for the City of Oak Park Heights has determined that it is in the public interest as v'ell as the interest of the City that Commissioners who serve as volunteers on the Park and Planning Cornmission as �ticll as the Joint Cable Commission or any other permanently established commissioner or liaison position should be reasonably compensated at a per diem rate to offset the necessary expenses that they and their families incur as a result of their attendance,which include, but are not limited to,mileage,child care expense, etc. NOW,TH EREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council for the City of Oak Park Heights that the appointed public (non-elected) members of the Parks, Planning. Joint Cable Commissions and other permanently established commissions or committees shall herewith he compensated at the rate of 525.00 per meeting for the commissioner, liaison. or appointed individual for their attendance at the entities regularly scheduled mecting(s). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that for other temporary or ad hoc committees that may be formed by the City Council, the $25.00 compensation would not apply unless expressly granted by the City Council at the time of the formation of such entity. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that this Resolution shall be effective as of January 12018 and shall supplant City Resolution 98-05-50 as attached.
