INSPECTIONS: All plumbing installations must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. No plumbing work may be covered prior to inspection. The contractor/installer must obtain all required inspection permits from the local building official, Cindy Shilts. REQUIREMENT(S): 1. All plumbing shall be installed in accordance with the 2015 Minnesota Plumbing Code,Chapter 4714. Unless prior authorization is granted by the Administrative Authority, all pipe, pipe fittings,traps, fixtures,material,and devices used in the plumbing system shall meet Code Sections 301.1 and 1401.1: (1)be listed or labeled(third party certified)by a listing agency; (2)comply with the approved applicable recognized standards referenced in this code; (3)be free from defects. 2. The horizontal drainage piping must be installed with a uniform slope of at least 1/4 inch per foot(see Section 708.1). Where municipal sewer depth, structural features,or building arrangement preclude this slope, a minimum slope of 1/8 inch per foot may be utilized for piping 4 inches and larger if approved by the authority having jurisdiction. 3. The flammable waste interceptor construction and installation shall comply with Section 1017.0,be approved by the administrative authority, and: a. Where the area is used for service and not storage,the minimum capacity is 6 cubic feet or one cubic foot for each 100 square feet of drained surface, whichever is greater. b. At least 2 feet of depth below the invert of the discharge pipe. c. A water seal of not less than 18 inches on the outlet. d. The 3-inch minimum interceptor discharge line must have a full-size cleanout to grade. e. A 2-inch minimum vapor vent must be independent of the discharge line vent. The discharge line vent must be at least half the diameter of the discharge line. Both vents must rise within 45 degrees of the vertical to 6 inches minimum above the lowest floor drain flood level before offsetting horizontally. f. The interceptor shall be readily accessible and provided with a gas-tight cover. 4. The plumbing system shall be tested in accordance with Sections 609.4 and 712.0. NOTE(S): 1. The scope of this project consists of remodeling an existing building. The plumbing installation includes three area drains and a flammable waste interceptor. 2. The building is served by existing municipal sewer and water services. 3. The plans and specifications were prepared by a licensed plumber. Only the plumber who has prepared the plans may use the plans for construction. If another plumber is contracted to install the plumbing,they must submit their own plans and specifications for the project. Authorization for installation may be withdrawn not undertaken within one year.
