HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-12-30 Weekly Notes ReferenceMemo TO: City Council Members FROM Eric Johnso City WEEKLY.NOTES—December 30 2005 Various Developrneflt 1 Zonin There have been no new submissions. Xcel Energy has decided that they are not going to construct the road internal to their site opening up access across the railroad tracks. The City issued a CUP for this activity about six months ago. The City has asked Xcel for a formal letter of withdrawal and has received a notice from the MN Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) that Xcel has withdrawn and their purchase of wetland credits is no longer necessary. Autumn Hills Park Shelter Enclosed is a draft RFP for architectural services the Parks Commission will be discussito5 in January. It is broken down in two key elements, concept planning and the bid/build process. Comments are welcome. For the sake of discussion, 1 have also contacted Archnet, the former design contest winner asking them to submit a quote for the completion of final design drawings and bidding documents for the current concept. On Thursday, Mark Vierling and I, net with VSSA management about a possible "donation" to the She1ter 1 would anticipate a letter of commitment in the near future outlining their proposal and amounts. These funds would not be related to any of VSSA development proposals. It is possible that the funding could be as high as $125,000. This remains tentative and is a generous consideration on their part. Baytown DNB, Lands About two months ago, the Council had a discussion regarding the possibility of the DIsa or the State of Minnesota selling the DNR land that lies west of the OPH prison facility. 1 took the liberty of requesting information as to the viability that possibility. The DNR has kindly responded that this land is not currently for sale nor is it anticipated to be sold in the foreseeable future. See enclosed letter from DN'R's Paul Purman.
