Approval is contingent upon meeting the requirements listed below. A copy of the approved plans and this report must be retained at the project location. INSPECTIONS: All plumbing installations must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. No plumbing work may be covered prior to inspection. The contractor/installer must obtain all required inspection permits. The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry(DLI)will be inspecting the plumbing for this project. The installer must verify that the required inspection fee has been submitted before scheduling. All plumbing shall be installed in accordance with the 2015 Minnesota Plumbing Code(see Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714). All plumbing fixtures and materials including backflow devices must be listed to mandatory standards in accordance with Sections 301.1 and 1401.1. 2. The proposed 3/4-inch softened cold water supply connecting to the new redundant cooling unit(CRAC-2) is nonpotable and extends from the existing CRAC unit. The following requirements apply: a. Potable and nonpotable water distribution systems and outlets must be identified per Section 601.2. b. Potable water connections to cooling or other liquid systems where chemicals may be introduced shall be protected by an air gap or an approved backflow preventer(see Section 603.1). Where any possibility of backpressure exists,a reduced pressure principle backflow preventer must be used(see Table 603.2). c. The installation of reduced pressure principle assemblies,double check valve assemblies,pressure vacuum breakers,or spill-proof vacuum breakers is permitted only when a testing and inspection program acceptable to the administrative authority is provided(see Section 603.5.23). The administrative authority and water purveyor must be notified prior to installation. Devices must be tested upon initial installation and not less than annually,and records must be kept. Installations must be at least 12 inches and not more than 5 feet above the finished floor or ground level unless a permanent platform for access is provided. Above-grade horizontal copper tubing 11/2-inch and smaller with soldered or brazed joints must be supported at least every 6 feet(see Table 313.1). 4. The plumbing system shall be tested in accordance with Sections 609.4 and 712.0. NOTES: 1. The scope of this plumbing project consists of the remodel of an existing building to extend an existing nonpotable water supply to a new redundant cooling unit(CRAC-2). 2. This facility is served by existing municipal sewer and water service connections. 3.
