HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-01-19 City Administrator Memo to Mayor & Council Re SA MeetingEnclosure B IUMN Date: Januar 19, 1996 To: Ma & Council From: Mike Robertson, Cit Administrator Re: Superamerica Meetin I met with Bob Bracke Jim McGovern and Sam Van Tassel of Superamerica to discuss their possible location at the northeast corner of Hi 5 and 58th Street. Superamerica's primar concern is to have access to 58th Street. The expect that the State will not allow them drivewa access to Hi 5. The also expect that future commercial development mi force the placement of a median in the Fronta Road at its intersection with 58th Street, thereb limitin their access to the Fronta Road. Superamerica would be lookin at a 3500 s foot store with a car wash attached. We discussed setbacks and si and neither seemed to be an issue. Superamerica's old store on Omaha Avenue is leased, not owned. Their lease sa that if business drops b a certain amount the can break the lease. As lon as business is g ood the will keep the Omaha store. Superamerica, has now problem ownin two stores so close to because the serve completel different traffic patterns. Superamerica expects to build 12 or more stores in the Metro Area next y ear. The are interested in this location and said the would he g ettin g back to Brackey.
