FYI-
VCI Asbestos called to coordinate their permit for the demolition of the Westbury house. Andy K.was not in when he
called, but I sent him to his voice mail to connect on service disconnection and water meter removal. He also thought
there may be a well on site and this is being verified. All paperwork to this end (abandonment if found) will be provided to
us for our files.
They anticipate being over there at the end of the month/first week of October for the demolition.

Jon,
The City will need the demolition contractor to fill this out and provide their MN Llc. #. (NOT THE LEAD#)
Also, water and sewer main need to be capped/terminated at the property line.The demolition contractor should do
this.
Normal stuff.
We then need to provide this data to MET COUNCIL.
No fees,just get the form filled out and coordinate Andy K.
Once the water is terminated at the property line, the City will pull the water meter.

Hi Dennis and Aaron,
I have received your permit application for the demolition of the house located at 6130 Osgood Ave. N. in
OPH. As I understand it from my conversation with VCI, the plan is to have the house demolished by the end
of this month, the first week of October. Also, that any information as to well abandonment, etc. found by
you folks would be copied to my attention, here at the City Hall.
Our Public Works Director, Andy Kegley communicated this morning that the curb stop at the house is
damaged and that the water cannot be shut off. If for some reason the house is not demolished this year, he
has noted that one of two things must happen as a result of the City not being able to disconnect the water
service:
1. The house must be heated and maintain an above freezing temp all winter
2. The service line needs to be terminated at the Row line — the curb stop valve is not accessible from
above ground.
I will complete the processing of your permit application and get it out to you later this week. If you have any
questions regarding the water service termination situation, please give Andy a shout.

We are aware that capping of the services is part of our demo, but it was unclear on how you wanted
this to be handled based on the previous email that the curb stop at the home was damaged and
unable to be shut off... Regarding the demo permit, can you just put it on hold until we obtain the
contract.

Capping the services is part of the demolition. The City will not require you to terminate the water service at
the corps as that would require street excavation, however we will require the curb stop valve is shut off and
the service line crimped. The City cannot shut the water off at the curb stop because the sleeve is
bent/damaged,
The sanitary sewer service must also be capped —using an appropriate cap and grout.

As of now we have yet to receive a contract with MnDOT so we cannot set a firm schedule for the
demo. If I understand correctly regarding the curb stop, we would need to assist the city in
excavating an area around the curb stop to provide you with access in order to get the water shut
off?
