Structure May 7, 2020 Y )%1\/'°- Eric Johnson, City Administrator Julie Hultman, Building Inspector City of Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 Dear Eric and Julie, I am asking for an extension for at least 1 year to get the new roof on my building. I have received bids exceeding $90,000.00 to $125,000.00 to complete this project. In order to secure financing from my lender I am required to have leases in my building. Due to circumstances out of my control, including the corona virus economic downturn and many construction problems here in 2 of my apartments, they have not been able to be rented. The construction problems have been upgrading an apartment with a new kitchen which has taken 4 months to get the correct cabinets and a serious water problem in another apartment which will require a major landscaping project to correct this as well as a lot of work in that apartment. At this time the water problem is being addressed, however, I am losing my renter of 20 years because he has had many instances of water in his apartment since the garage project began. I am having egress windows put in the 2 lower apartments this month. When this is completed the regrading and landscaping will begin. As you know this garage has taken a very long time to complete due to multiple problems. I believe they are almost completely resolved at this time. I still have a lot of things to complete on the property as a direct result of the garage project. I want to have all of these done and have a few months of less stress here before I take on any more construction projects that are so extensive and expensive. Sincerely, t — LScvl Carol D.
