Dear Bree &Joshua:
There are a couple of waste hauler bags in your driveway that are quite full and have been in your driveway
for some time. Amongst the contents, there appear to be some construction materials. This is a similar
occurrence to that of December 2018, wherein I notified Bree of the City's regulations as to outside storage of
waste, etc and the requirement for work permits.
Please again be advised that City Ordinance does not allow outside storage of such materials or waste. The
bags have been in place for several weeks and are to be removed no later than December 31, 2020.
With regard to any repair and/or remodeling work in process at the residence, please be advised that the City
of Oak Park Heights Ordinance has adopted the Minnesota State Building Code (including plumbing) and by its
reference the International Residential, Mechanical, Fuel Gas and Fire Code.
The adoption of these Codes does require inspections to new construction and remodeling projects (ie: siding,
windows, additions, etc.). Residential contractors and Plumbers are required by the State of Minnesota to
have a State license to perform work within the State of Minnesota.
A work permit of any kind has not been issued to this address since 2017. I have not been contacted for a
work permit for any remodeling work to your home. Remodeling work without a permit and subsequent
inspection is a violation of City Ordinance and State Law.
Please contact me, to let me know what work, if any, is occurring so that we can discuss permit needs and to
discuss any problem with the removal of the outside storage of the waste bags by December 31, 2019.
