The work for which this permit is issued shall be performed
according to: (1)the conditions of this permit;(2)the
approval plans and specifications;(3)the applicable city
approvals,Ordinances,and Codes;and,(4)the State Building
Code. This permit is for only the work described,and does
not grant permission for additional or related work which
requires separate permits. This permit will expire and become
null and void if work is not started within 180 days,or if work
is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days any time
after work has commenced. The applicant is responsible for
assuring all required inspections are requested in conformance
with the Minnesota State Building Code.

This review is limited to the provisions of the Minnesota Plumbing Code, Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714 and
assumes the data on which the design is based are correct. Approval is contingent upon meeting the requirements
listed below. A copy of the approved plans and this report must be retained at the project location.
INSPECTIONS: This project will be inspected by the local municipality. The contractor/installer must obtain
all required inspection permits from the Oak Park Heights Building Official, Julie Hultman. All plumbing
installations must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code.
No plumbing work may be covered prior to inspection.
REQUIREMENT(S):
1. Site utility requirements:
a. Recommend reviewing the curbstop shutoff with the water purveyor for approved locations.
b. The water service must be installed at least 10 feet horizontally from any manhole,catchbasin,or other
source of contamination,measured from the outer edge of the pipe to the outer edge of the
contamination source(see Section 609.6.1). Sheet C3.0 shows the water line within 10 feet of the
structure and must be revised to ensure the 10 feet horizontal isolation distance is in compliance with
Section 609.6.1
c. The building PVC sanitary sewer must be in accordance with ASTM D1785, D2665, F891, or F 1488
PVC (see Section 720.1
d. The exterior PVC storm drainage on the plan south side of the building must meet ASTM D1785,
D2665, D3034, F789, F794, F891, F949,or F1488 with approved fittings including cleanouts(see
Table 701.1 and Installation Standard 1). Solvent welded joints must use ASTM F656 purple primer
and ASTM D2564 cement. The sewer must be installed by open-trench on a continuous granular bed
per ASTM D2321.
e. HDPE meeting AASHTO M252 HDPE pipes 4-inch to 10-inch in size or ASTM F2306 HDPE pipes
12-inch to 60-inch with ASTM D3212 fittings may be installed from CBMH 1 to CBMH 4, if they are
approved by the administrative authority as alternate materials prior to installation (see Section 301.2).
2. Delete a note on the plumbing specification that incorrectly states to provide a check valve for the
fire/domestic water service line as it's already addressed correctly in another section of the specification.
3. The installation of reduced pressure principle assemblies, double check valve assemblies, pressure vacuum
breakers, or spill-proof vacuum breakers is permitted only when a testing and inspection program acceptable
to the administrative authority is provided(see Section 603.5.23). The administrative authority and water
purveyor must be notified prior to installation. Devices must be tested upon initial installation and not less
than annually, and records must be kept. Installations must be at least 12 inches and not more than 5 feet
above the finished floor or ground level unless a permanent platform for access is provided. A backflow

4. Each horizontal drain branch, including floor drain branches, shall be provided with a cleanout at its upper
terminal with the following exceptions(see Section 707.4). Provide cleanouts on the sinks and urinals.
5. All plumbing shall be installed in accordance with Chapter 4714. All pipe, fittings,traps, fixtures,
materials, and devices installed shall be listed or labeled by a third-party listing agency and comply with the
applicable standards referenced in the code(see Sections 301.1 and 1401.1). Alternate to code-approved
materials must be approved by the administrative authority under Section 301.2 prior to installation.
The proposed site-built trench drain supplied by others may be reviewed and approved by the administrative
authority as an alternate 301.2. The trench drains must be constructed watertight, approved watertight
joint, and be tested for watertightness by filling with water to the level of the flood rim of the trench drain.
The trench drain must also not be trapped.
NOTE(S):
1. The scope of this project consists of a new building. Installation includes a 50 cubic foot flammable waste
interceptor,two restrooms, a 4-inch trench drains,service sink, a handsink, restroom floor drains, a 10-
gallon water heater and a water cooler supply line. No water supply line is proposed for the vehicle service
garage areas.
2. This facility will be served by municipal water and sewer.
Authorization may be withdrawn if installation does not begin within one year. Additional requirements may
result from changed conditions or additional information.
