The revised plans are found to conform to the Minnesota Plumbing Code,Minnesota Rules,Chapter 4714 with the following requirement: 1. The revised plans show that the existing vent header is 2 inch in size. A 2-inch horizontal vent may serve a maximum of 24 drainage fixture units(see Table 703.2). The horizontal vent serving all proposed fixtures must be at least 3-inch in size. 2. The required fee for the review of the revised plumbing plans is$50. This fee has added to the project in iMS and may be paid on-line by logging into the system at https://ims.dli.mn.gov/ims This letter should be attached to our Report on Plans dated June 9,2020. Approval is contingent upon meeting the requirements listed below. A copy of the approved plans and this report must be retained at the project location. INSPECTIONS: This project will be inspected by the local municipality. The contractor/installer must obtain all required inspection permits from the Oak Park Heights Building Official,Julie Hultman. All plumbing installations must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. No plumbing work may be covered prior to inspection. REQUIREMENT(S): 1. Island vents are permitted only when structural conditions preclude conventional vents(see Section 909.1): a. The vent must peak as high as possible with 45-degree fittings before returning downward to connect to the horizontal drain immediately downstream of the vertical fixture drain with a wye branch fitting. b. The horizontal foot vent must be pitched at 1/4-inch per foot minimum to drain. 2. Verify that the existing sanitary and vent pipe is sized based on Table 703.2. For all future submittals, show the sizes of the existing pipes where new connections are to be made. 3. Cross-link polyethylene(PEX)water distribution systems must meet Section 605.10 and Table 604.1: a. The tubing must comply with ASTM F876,ASTM F877,or CSA B 137.5. b. ASTM F876 tubing must be marked with the standard of the fittings to be used. c. The fittings must be marked with ASSE 1061,ASTM F877,ASTM F1807,ASTM F1960,ASTM F 1961,ASTM F2080,ASTM F2159,ASTM F2735,or CSA B137.5. 4. CPVC water distribution systems must meet Section 605.4 and Table 604.1: a. Pipes must meet ASTM Standards D2846,F441, or F442. b. Solvent cement must comply with ASTM F493. Solvent cement requiring the use of primer must be orange. Primer must meet ASTM F656 and be colored. One-step yellow or red solvent cement is permitted for'/2-inch through 2-inch ASTM D2846 pipes only. c. Installation Standard 20 must be followed, including provisions for expansion and contraction. 5. Pipe hangers and supports shall comply with Section 313.0,Table 313.1,and the installation standard. 6. The licensing authority may require additional plans, information and fee. Changes to the plumbing system may result. Any significant plumbing changes must be approved by this office prior to installation. NOTE(S): 1. The scope of this project consists of the remodeling of an existing building.
