MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING HELD NOVMBER 17, 1978
Street Vacation Hearing - A. Stone
Mayor Mondor called the meeting to order. Present: Lang, Mondor, Seggelke, Torgerson,
Heuer and Vierling. Groth absent.
Mayor Mondor called hearing to order to consider vacation of the westerly 4 ft. of Paul
Avenue between 60th and 61st Streets.
Clerk read hearing notice as published, presented affidavit of publication and mailing
list for said hearing.

ggelke moved to adopt a resolution to vacate the westerly 4 ft. of Paul Avenue between
60th and 61st Sts. Seconded by Lang. Approved by aye votes of Torgerson, Seggelke,
Lang and Mondor. Absent - Groth.
Lang made a motion to grant a front yard set back variance required to allow Mr. Stone
to construct a porch on the vacated portion of Paul Avenue. Seconded by Torgerson.
Carried - 4 yes votes. Absent - Groth.
Council was advised that Mr. J. Koller will allow the tree contractor to remove only 5
of the 7 diseased trees on his property. Torgerson made a motion to remove the 5 trees
and advise Mr. Koller that the responsibility of the remaining 2 trees are entirely his
whenever they are removed. Seconded by Seggelke. Carried - 4 yes votes. Absent - Groth.
Mr. Vierling will make contact.
Seggelke moved to adopt a resolution to install a "Stop" sign at 56th St. and Osgood Avenue
which will stop the west bound traffic. Seconded by Lang. Carried - aye votes of Torgerson,
Seggelke, Lang and Mondor. Absent - Groth.
Lang advised that costs of salted sand for sanding streets is $7.30 per yard and $23.00 per
hour for hauling or $192.00 per application as compared to $1.25 per yard with no hauling
charge for slag, a per application charge of $25.00, neither application figure includes
the cost of applying to streets. Lang made a motion to use slag for sanding streets.
Seconded by Mondor. Carried - 3 yes votes. No - Torgerson. Groth - absent.
Clerk distributed an additional 12 resumes, a total of 21 to date for position of City
Clerk Treasurer. Each Councilman will review and determine which shall be called for an
interview and determine the interview dates on Monday, November 20th.
Lang made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Seggelke. Carried - 4 yes votes. Groth -
absent.
