Sep 1 Nuisance Abatement&Site Compliance Request
Dear Mr.Gaebler& Ms. Severson,
I wrote to you on August 3,2021 regarding vehicles and a trailer parked upon the grass area at the above-referenced
address and did ask that all vehicles and trailers be parked to the driveway or moved to the interior of your garage no
later than August 16, 2021.Compliance was not found upon checking today and your property remains in violation of
City Ordinances 401.15.F.4.h.13 and 4015.15.F.7.
City Ordinance 401.15 F.4. h.13, requires all vehicles, including trailers to be parked upon a hard surface(see
below).
401.15.F.4.h.13—Surfacing. All areas intended to be utilized for parking space and driveways shall
be hard surfaced with materials suitable to control dust and drainage. Plans for surfacing and
drainage of driveways and stalls for five(5)or more vehicles shall be submitted to the City Engineer
for review and the final drainage plan shall be subject to written approval.
Hard surface is considered to be that of asphalt, concrete, cobblestone, paving block or crushed rock that meets
minimum Class 5 materials and which has a base depth of 4 inches minimum. If you would please relocate this
vehicle to your driveway or submit a complete plan for an expansion of your current off-street parking areas.
It is unclear whether or not two of the vehicles parked upon the grass are operable and/or if its registration is current.
Inoperable vehicles may not be stored outside and must be stored within a garage or removed from the City per City
Ordinance 401.15 F.7(see below).
401.15.F.7— Use of Required Area. Required accessory off-street parking spaces in any district
shall not be utilized for open storage, sale or rental of good, repair work, storage of inoperable
vehicles and/or storage of snow.
This letter serves as the City's step 1 request to abate the described nuisance and directs that all vehicles and
trailers parked upon the yard area be removed and placed to the driveway or to the interior of your garage no
later than Friday,September 17,2021.
