pandemic. The meeting will follow the provisions of Minnesota Statute § 13D.021. If practical, members

PARKS AND TRAILS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
Monday,January 24, 2022 at City Hall
I. Call to Order: Chair Chirhart called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m. Present: Commissioner
Hoeppner and Commissioner Berres. Also present: Assistant City Administrator Pinski,
Arborist Danielson, and Commission.Liaison Councilmember Dougherty. Absent:
Commissioner Thoreson and Public Works Director Kegley.
11. Approval of Agenda: Commissioner Hoeppner, seconded by Commissioner Berres, moved
to approve the Agenda. 3-0.
III. Approve Parks and Trails Commission Minutes—December 20, 2021: Commissioner
Hoeppner, seconded by Commissioner Berres, moved to approve the Minutes. Carried 3-0.
IV, Department/Commission Liaison Reports:
A. Arborist: Arborist Danielson reported that the City Council would be taking action at
their next meeting to approve the 2022 Prairie Restoration Vegetation Management
Plan which would include a spring mow and three to four weed control visits.
B. Public Works Director: No report.
C. Other/Commission Liaison Reports: No report.
V. Visitor/Public Comment: None
VI. Public Hearings: None
VII. Old Business:
A. Swa elk Playground Equipment Replacement Discussion: Three different
options that were included in the packet were reviewed and discussed.
Commissioner Hoeppner, seconded by Chair Chirhart, moved to recommend to City
Council Option 2 for Swager Park replacement. Carried 3-0.
B. Summer Park Program Coordinator Position: Chair Chirhart, seconded by
Commissioner Hoeppner, moved to recommend to the City Council Annie Berres as
the Summer Park Program Coordinator. Carried 3-0.
VIII. New Business:
A. Parks and Trails Commission Vacancies: Chair Chirhart, seconded by Commissioner
Berres, moved to recommend Randy Thoreson for a second term, to accept Hal
Peterson's resignation, and to advertise for vacancy. Carried 3-0.
IX. Annual Meeting of the Parks and Trails Commission Election of Officers: Commissioner
Hoeppner, seconded by Chair Chirhart, moved to postpone the meeting until the
Commission had a full board. Carried 3-0.

6:37 p.m. Carried 3-0.

Dear Parks and Trails Commission,
I am writing to inform you about my decision to leave my position as Board
Commissioner of the Oak Park Heights Parks and Trails Board. I will no longer be
,able to participate as of February 28th 2022
It is with great excitement and honor that I will be accepting thejob as the
Oak Park Heights Summer Parks Program Coordinator.
Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to such an incredible Board. I've
truly valued the opportunity to work with such a strong and inspirational team. I I
wish the best to all members going forward.
