Children have the opportunity to follow cones around clockwise in the hockey rink on
toddler bikes/ride on's supplied by OPH.

Park Explorer's + Kind Roots Early Learning & Care
Families are welcomed to the park as a Kind Roots Teacher leads families in stories,
songs, and nature activities.
Themes include "Were going on a Bear Hunt", Camouflage, and About Birds.

Fairies in the Park
Fairy creations made by the community, hidden in the park for guests of all ages to find.
July 22— July 31 , 2022 on a park trail, in a park TBD
All things magical, whimsical, and fun - We will welcome fairy and gnome homes,
magical creatures, fairy gardens, elf homes, trolls, and more! All creations will be
placed in the woods on a park trail on Thursday July 21 2022 at a secret park to
create a magical experience for guests of all ages. This is an open art instillation.
Anyone is welcome to participate.
HERE IS HOW IT WORKS: fill out this form to let us know that you are going to create
something. If you haven't figured out all the details yet, that is okay! Tell us what you
can. You will need to deliver your creations to Oak Park Heights City Hall between
July 1-20th, 2022. Everyone is welcome to attend a special outdoor opening reception
on Friday the 22 at 5PM to see all the creations together, hidden in the woods. It really
is a lot of fun! We hope you will build something!
We only ask please use as many natural elements as you can. No Plastic.
Any individual or group who wants to be part of the magic, but don't know where to
start can click on the box in the form for a FREE fairy kit that they can pick up at Oak
Park Heights City Hall. This is a great option for scout groups, parent-child creations,
or any individual or child who loves fairies and wants to join in on the fun of this
outdoor exhibit.
IMPORTANT DATES:
• Please submit your entry form by May 1St 2022
• Deliver your creation to Oak Park Heights City Hall: July 1-20h
• Creations are moved out into a TBD Park: July 21
• Fairies in the park opening reception: Friday, July 22, 4pm
• Fairies in the Park Ends: Sunday July 31 sl 2022
• Pick up Creations from the determined Park on Sunday July 31s' 2022

CITY OF OAK PARK HEIGHTS
The City received three applications for the two Parks and Trails Commission
vacancies. Interviews will be conducted by the Parks and Trails Commission on
Monday, March 21, 2022 at the Parks and Trails Commission Worksession.
Attached you will find the applications. The interview times for each applicant are
noted below:

HOW LONG HAVE YOU LIVED IN OAK PARK HEIGHTS? 2 '/2 years this second time
of residency. We lived in OPH previously 1981-1984. Our first home (Penrose Ave N.) was the
first home removed for the new bridge.
OCCUPATION: Director & Co-founder of a hunger relief nonprofit

While I have never served on a citv council/board I have served on church councils mission
boards, and advisory committees.
I currently serve on the board of directors for Meals From The Heart.
I have also served on safety and performance committees of previous employers.

TO THE OAK PARK HEIGHTS PARKS COMMISSION.
A) I hold unique perspective from having lived in the community previously and electing to
return again with one of the reasons being the multiple parks and the trail system.
B) Having lived in the Cover Park area in the 1980's, in Stillwater for 38 years, and now
back to the Cover Park area in November 2019, I have biked and walked almost every
trail and visited almost every park in both communities.
C) I have witnessed how good planning and foresight can re-create a detriment (a fly-ash pit)
into a city and broader community asset.
D) I am both a resident and a business owner in the city.
E) I utilize the trail system for bike riding, hiking, and walking. For both pleasure and for
commuting to work.
F) I have utilized various city parks for family gatherings, celebrations, weddings, and
picnics.

THIS APPOINTMENT?
My work experience has strengthened my ability to conceptualize and envision the whole and
the individual components of a plan that provides for, and engages groups of all sizes. This
experience demonstrates my ability to work with others, to formulate and understand intricate
plans, and accomplish the tasks at hand.
For example:
1) As the president and director of a nonprofit I am constantly engaged with volunteers and
clients creating and executing plans for meal packing activities of all sizes locally,
nationally, and globally.
2) I have organized and led over one hundred global short term mission building and
medical teams (Mexico, Tanzania, Guatemala) with teams of adults, students, and
families. I have planned and executed the entire process from project planning, material
procurement and delivery, team development, training, and the logistics of team
transport, lodging, safety, and meals.
3) As a tradeshow supervisor T oversaw the building, shipping, installation, dismantle, and
storage of major displays. Maintaining inventory and control over the thousands of
components and directing the work of 100 personnel and logistics with multiple sub-
contract vendors.
