Re: Furniture Item Disposal
Dear Rachael:
I was in your neighborhood late last week and noticed that you have a sofa and what appeared to
be a television stored to the side of your garage. If you have already disposed of these items,
please disregard this letter.
If you have not disposed of them, please know that the City trash collection service will pick up
the sofa and cushions for no additional charge to you. Pick up would be on your regular trash
day but does need to be scheduled for pick up, by calling City Hall to have it noted for the truck
to come by and collect.
To have furniture items picked up on your trash day, please call City Hall to get on the pick-up
list no later than 10 a.m. the Tuesday before your regular trash day.
It is my understanding that the regular trash service provider will also pick up a television, but
that there is a charge for this. You will need to contact Tennis Sanitation directly to arrange this.
Alternatively, the Washington County Environmental Center, located in Woodbury does accept
electronic items from residents of Washington County. I have enclosed a brochure that details
their program for your use.
The items as they are, currently stored outside along the garage, is a violation of City Nuisance
Ordinance 1109.03 (enclosed). This letter serves as the City's request for Ordinance compliance
and removal of the items no later than June 3, 2022.
