Per the design discussed in my July 15. 1998 letter, the highest point in the swale should be at 942.5 feet elevation or less as the final grade with sod in place. This elevation will provide approximately 1.5 feet of protection for your house and 1.2 feet of protection for your neighbor at 5660 Newgate Circle. Currently the high point as a rough grade was found to be approximately 942.8. Final grade will include both black dirt and sod and will probably be at or above 943. The rough grade found in the center of your back yard was found to be at 943.7 feet and at the corner of the basement window 943.8 feet. The back yard appears adequate. The depth of the swale should be increased such that the final grade at the highest point of the swale will be at 942.5 or less when black dirt and sod are added. For reference the elevation found about one foot behind the silt fence was 942.3 feet. Also the elevation in the swale approximately 15 feet back of the front edge of the garage was 942.3 feet. If you have any questions please contact me. Sincerely; ay E. Jo son, P.E.
