Larson Engineering Inc. (LEI)performed a site observation on October 11, 2022 to observe compliance with our updated plans signed on 9/15/2022,which outlined the repairs to be completed to the decks attached to units 245 and 345. We observed the following conditions: 1. The damaged columns supporting the unit 245 and 345 decks have been removed and replaced (See photos 1 and 2). 2. Column caps identified in Section 1 of the new details were observed at all columns (See Photo 3). 3. The concealed flange hangers outlined in Section 2 of the new details were also observed (See Photo 4). 4. Deck floor framing was also observed to be replaced (See Photo 5). 5. Simpson H2.5A Hurricane ties were used to attach new deck joists to existing new beams supporting the deck for Unit 245 (See Photo 6). 6. Damaged framing was observed on the east side of units 245 and 345 adjacent to the fireplaces (See Photos 7 and 8). 7. Damaged framing adjacent to the fireplace wall of Unit 345 was removed and replaced (See Photo 9). 8. New ledger was attached to the ends of existing floor trusses at 32" o.c. in some locations and 16"o.c. in other locations (See Photos 10 and 11). 9. It is our understanding that 5" long Simpson SDWS Timber screws were used to attach the new ledger to the ends of the existing floor trusses. The attachment of the ledger to the existing floor trusses was analyzed by LEI and found to be sufficient. Based on our site observations on October 11, 2022, it appears that the Ms.Taya Mantel Sunnyside Condos II October 21,2022 repairs to the decks of units 245 and 345 were completed to our plans and specifications identified on our plans signed on 9/15/2022.
