(Please feel free to read this email at the hearing or share use it in any capacity involving this matter) As I write this I am scheduled to work on the day of the hearing and thus I wanted to have a chance to give our family's perspective on the matter of granting a variance to Cates Fine Homes. Administratively,while I know you have detailed property descriptions at hand I have included a few photos from our front door and driveway area for a more intimate sense of the proximity in question. Obviously we are excited about the notification of the intent of Cates Fine Homes to build in our neighborhood.Clearly,as I've seen from around town they do gorgeous work and surely from their plans this will be no exception. Our one concern around the notification to split the single lot into two is the proximity to our front deck,driveway and kids play area as well as ours and our neighbors back yards.This all has equally in mind not only ours and our neighbors sense of property and privacy but also the future owners of the home that would sit adjacent to our collective properties. I say this in part because our frequent driveway roller hockey games get pretty rowdy and that pales in comparison to when one of the kids ga-ga ball matches in the trampoline starts to heat up. As I've discussed this with my wife we would welcome any provision to insure the privacy along ours and our neighbors property line. That said,to be completely honest we are a little worried that a vague provision to"privacy"which can be a pretty subjective term could get lost in the abstract. Due to this we would be most comfortable with a provision to build a tall fence along the property of 15xxx 62nd St. In the areas directly adjacent to ours and our neighbors property lines for some sense of privacy between the several yards involved. In my thoughts this would be something that Cates Fine Homes could largely recoup the cost of in the splitting of one lot into two and also into the purchase price of the new home(s). I would think that this sense of privacy would be a selling point to any prospective buyers as our fantastic neighborhood gets a little tighter.Apparently the secret is out because our little group of streets over there is indeed pretty great! I want to close this little note by reiterating my joy at the plan proposed and to place my humble submission to the privacy of the current citizens and neighbors in the context of that very joy. I hope this project happens and happens successfully for everyone involved and I'm thankful to the people at Cates Fine Homes for the vision to invest in our neighborhood.
