CITY OF OAK PARK HEIGHTS PARKS AND TRAILS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES MONDAY, FEBRUARY 27,2023 1. Call to Order: Chair Chirhart called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Present: Commissioners Thiets and Van Dyke. Also present: Assistant City Administrator Pinski, Arborist Danielson, and Public Works Director Kegley. Absent: Commissioner Hoepprier and Commission Liaison Councili-nember Dougherty. Chair Chirhart added "Schedule Interviews" to New Business as Item A. 11, Approval of Agenda: Commissioner Van Dyk, seconded by Commissioner Thiets, moved to approve the Agenda. Carried 3-0. 111. Approve Parks and Trails Commission Minutes -- January 23, 2023: Commissioner Thiets, seconded by Commissioner Van Dyk, moved to approve the Minutes. Carried 3-0. IV, 17q2artment/Comrnission Liaison Reports: A. Arborist: Arborist Danielson reported that the 2023 prairie vegetation management plan was approved by the City Council on January 24. B. Public Works Director. Public Works Director Kegley reported the ice rinks were closed for the season. C. Other/Commission Liaison Reports: None V. Visitor Public Comment: None VL Public Hearings: None VII. Old Business: A. Swager Park Play gound: Public Works Director Kegley reviewed the two quotes received: one from Flagship Recreation and the other from St. Croix Recreation, Chair Chirhart, seconded by Commissioner Thiets, moved to recommend the project be awarded to Flagship Recreation for $74,982.33 for an August 2023 install. Carried 3-0. VIII. New Business: A. Schedule Interview: Assistant City Administrator Pinski reported that the City received one application for the vacancy on the Commission. Commissioner Van Dyk, seconded by Commissioner Thiets, moved to schedule the interview for March 20, 2023 at 5:15 p.m. Carried 3-0. IX. Informational: A. Next Meeting: Monday, March 20, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall B.
