RE: Rental Code Violations at 5652 Ozark Avenue N.
Dear Ms. Kloos:
Please be advised that our office serves as the City Attorney for the City of Oak Park Heights
("City"). We understand that multiple communications have occurred between you and the City
regarding City Code Violations at your property located at 5652 Ozark Avenue North. Specifically,
the violation include City Ordinance 401.15.M.4.,Transient Lodging Codes.
As the City previously informed you on February 1, 2023 and again in a follow up letter dated
February 2, 2023, as well as during discussions with City staff, the short term rental activities at
your home violate City Code. During discussions, you were told that you must cease all
AirBNB/VRBO type rental operations and instead apply for and obtain a Conditional Use Permit
from the City before continuing to renting your home. It has come to the City's attention that you
continue to use your home as a short-term rental and no Conditional Use Permit has been obainedr,
and also you may be personally residing in the garage at times--which is also a violation of code.
Accordingly,you are hereby demanded to cease and desist all unlawful activities at your home by
November 17, 2023. If this matter is not resolved by then, the City will commence a code
enforcement action with the courts and/or issuance of criminal citations against you.
