They did ask Staff to bring back some updates and follow-ups for further discussion in February-so a public hearing may be held in March. 3. A letter was set to a resident reminding them of a need to get a KENNEL LICENSE. 4. Some of the challenges to that possibility included access issues along 58th street/Neal Ave., prior development agreements and how retail world may be changing in a post-COVID landscape. Ultimately this proposal did not move forward. The lands highlighted are the largest remaining undeveloped properties in our City. Lands such as this—generally as"in-fill" development become land-locked and/or experience more development challenges compared to other properties in more open or new development areas. As the City does have an interest in seeking fiscally responsible development that also embodies sound access and development patterns—we are seeking to host a conversation with the owners of the lands in and around this area to see what concerns you all may have and/or how these areas may be considered in order to facilitate a possible future project—especially as it relates to access on 58th street, Neal Ave and 60th Street. Accordingly, Staff here at the City would be curious if you would like to attend a round-table discussion about these lands and related access/development issues---on February 22, 2023—here at City Hall— 10:00 am--- I am not sure exactly what an outcome would be and we are not seeking commitments from anyone, but I anticipate that having entities have at least some conversation about their goals and desires could not necessarily be a negative. We can talk more about other or future discussions if there seems to be some thought that it would be needed or valuable. PLEASE RSVP To me at eajohnson@cityofoakparkheights.com or call me at 651-439-4439 if you believe you would be willing and able to attend—of if you have questions. Thank you for your consideration.
