With this letter we are notifying you that the application cannot be accepted at this time. With this letter we are returning the original application. Please coordinate with Julie Hultman to collect the fees that were submitted. The transient lodging provisions are found in Section 401.15.M.4 of the Zoning Ordinance. Transient lodging is a part of the Home Occupation section that is defined as follows: Home Occupation: Any occupation or profession engaged in by the occupant of a residential dwelling unit, which is clearly incidental and secondary to the residential use of the premises and does not change the character of said premises. According to Washington County the property is listed as non-homestead. You must be the occupant and live in the structure for it to qualify for transient lodging/short term rentals. While the transient lodging section indicates that the owner does not need to be present while the rental is occurring, the house must be the primary residence of the owner. It is our understanding that this is not your primary residence. To make an application, you must provide proof from Washington County that the property is homesteaded. An incomplete application will be returned to the applicant. The application approval process commences and an application is considered complete when all required information and fees have been submitted appropriately to the City. Professional Fee Responsibility: It is the understanding of the undersigned that all City incurred professional fees and expenses associated with the processing of this request(s)will be promptly paid upon receipt.
