This review is limited to the provisions of the Minnesota Plumbing Code, Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714 and
assumes the data on which the design is based are correct. Approval is contingent upon meeting the requirements
listed below. A copy of the approved plans and this report must he retained at the project location.
INSPECTIONS: This project will be inspected by the local municipality. The contractor/installer must obtain
all required inspection permits from the Oak Park Heights Building Official, Julie Hultman. All plumbing
installations must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code.
No plumbing work may be covered prior to inspection.
REQUIREMENT(S):
1. All plumbing shall be installed in accordance with Chapter 4714. All pipe, fittings, traps, fixtures,
materials, and devices shall be listed or labeled by a third -party listing agency and comply with the
applicable standards referenced in the code (see Sections 301.2 and 1701.1).
2. The horizontal drainage piping must be installed with a uni form slope of at least 3 /4 inch per foot (see
Section 708.1). Where municipal sewer depth, structural features, or building arrangement preclude this
slope, a minimum slope of 118 inch per foot may be utilized for piping 4 inches and larger if approved by
the authority having jurisdiction.
3. Verify that the dry wells receive only clearwater waste, are located at least 20 feet from the building and are
an approved point of disposal by the Pollution Control Agency.
4. Fixture vents must rise within 45 degrees from the vertical at least 6 inches above the fixture flood level
before offsetting horizontally or connecting to a branch vent (see Section 905.3).
5. If the water supply for the emergency eyewash extends inside the bowl below the spill line, the eyewash
must discharge indirectly to the sanitary sewer.
6. Above -grade horizontal copper tubing 11/2-inch and smaller must be supported at least every 6 feet (see
Table 313.3).
7. Each horizontal drain branch on or below the floor level of the building drain shall be provided with a
cleanout at its upper terminal with the following exceptions (see Section 707.4):
a. A cleanout is not required if the branch is less than five feet unless it serves sinks or urinals.
b. A cleanout is not required on a drain that is 72 degrees or less from the vertical unless it serves kitchen
sinks or urinals.

PVC solvent weld joints must use ASTM F656 purple primer and ASTM D2564 cement per Section
705.6.2.
9. The plumbing system shall be tested in accordance with Sections 609.4 and 712.0.
NOTE(S):
1. The scope of this project consists of constructing a new pump house. The plumbing installation includes a
water heater, wall hydrants, floor drains, and two emergency eyewashes.
2. The building will be served by new sewer and water services.
3. The licensing authority may require additional plans, information and fee. Changes to the plumbing system
may result. Any significant plumbing changes must be approved by this office prior to installation.
Authorization may be withdrawn if installation does not begin within one year. Additional requirements may
result from changed conditions or additional information.
