If you do not actually occupy the house as your primary residence, you cannot rent it as transient lodging/short term rental. You can rent it out for long-term rentals without occupying the structure. The transient lodging/short term rental requirements are part of the Section 401.15 Home Occupations of the Zoning Ordinance. Below is the definition of home occupation. Note that a home occupation requires the occupant of the dwelling unit to actually live there. Home Occupation: Any occupation or profession engaged in by the occupant of a residential dwelling unit, which is clearly incidental and secondary to the residential use of the premises and does not change the character of said premises. In that this is not a valid application, we cannot accept the application, and all the application materials and fees will be returned to you. Please do not hesitate to contact me at scott@planningco.com or 952.221.0547 with any questions. Sincerely, SCO'f acil.sVca h9L Scott D.
