DEPARTMENT OF -• LABOR AND INDUSTRY Division of Construction Codes and Licensing REPORT ON PLUMBING PLANS PROJECT: Starbucks, 5950 Nova Scotia Avenue, Oak Park Heights, Washington County, Minnesota, Plan No. PB-R2509-0013 OWNERSHIP: Starbucks, 5950 Nova Scotia Avenue N, Oak Park Heights, MN 55082 SUBMITTER: Beeline Plumbing, 7101 143rd Avenue NW, Ramsey, MN 55330 Plans Dated: Refer to DLI stamped plans Initial Date Received: September 2, 2025 Last Date Received: October 9, 2025 Date Approved: October 10, 2025 This review is limited to the provisions of the Minnesota Plumbing Code, Minnesota Rules, Chapter 4714 and assumes the data on which the design is based are correct. Approval is contingent upon meeting the requirements listed below. A copy of the approved plans and this report must be retained at the project location. INSPECTIONS: This project will be inspected by the local municipality. The contractor/installer must obtain all required inspection permits from the Oak Park Heights Building Official, Julie Hultman. All plumbing installations must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. No plumbing work may be covered prior to inspection. REQUIREMENTS: 1. All plumbing must be installed in accordance with the 2020 Minnesota Plumbing Code, Chapter 4714. All pipe, fittings, traps, fixtures, materials, and devices shall be listed or labeled by a third -party listing agency and comply with the applicable standards referenced in the code (see Sections 301.2 and 1701.1). 2. The re -use of existing fixtures/equipment is prohibited unless the fixtures/equipment conform to the current Minnesota Plumbing Code (see part 4714.0101, subparts 3 and 4). 3. Indirect waste pipes in food and beverage establishments must meet the requirements of Section 801.3: a. Ice maker drains must be the larger of the drain outlet or'/4-inch. b. Food -handling fixtures must be trapped, piped separately, and discharged by an air gap. The drain must be the larger of the equipment outlet or'/4-inch. c. All other indirect wastes must be at least 1-inch in size. d. Except for refrigeration coils and ice makers, indirect waste length may not exceed 15 feet. 4. The plans show the installation of a Micromatic Water Dispensing Tower and a Marco Friia Max 80 chiller/carbonator. Our understanding is that the dispensing tower is a dual tap that will serve filtered water from one tap and carbonated water from the other tap, and the chilled water will be circulated through the chiller and the dispensing tower to cool the taps. The chiller/carbonator and the dual tap tower must be constructed such that a failure of the refrigeration equipment and/or the circulated chilled water pipes will not result in a cross -contamination with the carbonated water or filtered water. A failure of the refrigeration equipment/circulated chilled water piping must leak into a space that is vented to atmosphere (see Section 603.5.4.2). 443 Lafayette Road N., St. Paul, MN 55155 • (651) 284-5005 • www.dli.mn.gov An Equal Opportunity Employer Starbucks Plumbing Plan No. PB-R2509-0013 Page 2 of 2 10/10/2025 5. All materials used in potable water systems must meet the requirements of NSF 61 (see Section 604.1). Pipe and fittings with lead content must not exceed 0.25 percent lead in the wetted surface material (see Section 604.2). Solder and flux shall contain less than 0.2 percent lead. Joints must use ASTM B813 non -corrosive non -toxic paste -type flux (see Section 605.1.4). 6. The plumbing system must be tested in accordance with Section 609.4. The potable water system must be disinfected per Section 609.9. NOTES: The scope of this project consists of replacing a glass filler with a dual tap water dispensing tower supplied with carbonated water and filtered water. Filtered water will be delivered to the tap as well as routed through a new ASSE 1022 backflow preventer to a new chiller/carbonator unit. The dual tap will be used for 90 days before the glass filler will be re -installed. 2. This facility is served by existing municipal sewer and existing municipal water services. The plans and specifications were prepared by a licensed plumber. Only the plumber who has prepared the plans may use the plans for construction. If another plumber is contracted to install the plumbing, they must submit their own plans and specifications. The licensing authority may require additional plans, information, and fees. Changes to the plumbing system may result. Any significant plumbing changes must be approved by this office prior to installation. 5. The current Minnesota Plumbing Code, Chapter 4714, and related information can be found at: http://www.dli.mn gov/business/plumbing-contractors/2020-m innesota-plum bing-code Authorization may be withdrawn if installation does not begin within one year.
