Dear Wolf Electric;
On Tuesday, September 16th, 2025, an engineer from Complete Building Solutions (CBS) was
brought onsite. Our assessment and analysis are summarized below.
A non-intrusive investigation was performed, as many of the structural members were hidden,
the design is based on what is visible during the site visit and on traditional construction
practices. If, after demolition, the conditions are different or a structural issue is uncovered,
please contact CBS, and allow for time to schedule a site visit and re-analysis of the design
based on uncovered conditions. All measurements provided are the max allowable
length/height (due to construction renovation variables that occur) and exact member
measurements shall be field verified. CBS utilizes the Minnesota Residential Building Code 2020
"MNRBC2020" in its analysis. Unless specified in this report, follow this building code
requirement.
Background Summary
CBS was retained to perform an on-site evaluation of the home's structural integrity following a
fire that originated on the top of the flat roof at the exterior edge of the building.The fire
occurred over a covered porch.
Structural Assessment of Building
Fire-Damaged Members:
Topside Damage(Figure 2)
• Remove original roofing membrane and insulation down to the roof sheathing
• Exterior Curb. Replace minimum 8'-0" length of curb, match with existing curb for heigh and
slope
• Wood Sheathing. Match existing thickness, about%:", remove to existing seam
• Insulation. Replace.
• Separation Curb. Replace with solid sawn wood members that match the height and width of
the existing separation curb
• Roof Rafters. Replace with similar sized.
Further damaged may be noted as they become uncovered. Replace all damaged members.
