HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-06-09 Council Minutes Excerpt CITY OF OAK PARK HEIGHTS MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 9, 1975 Mayor Johnson called meeting to order. Present: Mondor, Sommerfeldt, Groth, Torgerson, Johnson, Heuer and Eckberg. Minutes of May 12th, 19th and 28th meetings were read and approved on a motion by Sommerfeldt. Seconded by Torgerson. Carried. Roger Sweet and James Soule appeared to request Council approval of a change in corporate officers of Heights Liquor Inc. to include Mr. Sweet and Mr. Soule. Sommerfeldt made motion to approve the above change in officiers. Seconded by Torgerson. Carried. oe Bjorkman requested an increase of $1.00 per yard of black dirt and $2.00 per hour or machines. Council will review. An application from C. & P. Excavating to haul fly ash from the Allen S. King Plant to the deposit area was presented. Mr. Wallace of N.S.P. described the fly ash collection system now in operation at the King Plant and the engineering efforts they have extended to handle the-fC.y's and design of adequate truck bodies to prevent spillage. Fly ash will be unloaded at base of pit and covered immediately by N.S.P employees using N.S.P. equipment. The entire operation will be under the supervision of N.S.P. personnel. One truck will be fitted with an experimental body and evaluated prior to issuance of a permit. City Council will be invited to inspect when available. Mayor opened the hearing on the Beaudet plat continued from May 28th. The City Engineer recommended a 40 ft. right of way between 63rd and 64th St. to allow proper access for utilities, traffic and emergency vehicles. Mr. Beaudet indicated that he would provide the additional 10 ft. of property from east side of present 30 ft. right of way from 63rd to 65th St. Sommerfeldt made motion to approve the Beaudet plat and authorize Mayor and Clerk to sign same upon receipt of dedication of 10 additional ft. from the east side of Peacan Avenue to provide a 40 ft. right of way. Mondor seconded motion. stye votes were cast by Groth, Sommerfeldt, Mondor and Johnson. Nye by Torgerson. Carried. Larry Cardinal and Russell Sharp requested a stop sign at 61st and Feller to control a blind intersection. Mondor moved to adopt a resolution to install a stop sign at the intersection of 61st and Feller Avenue which would stop the south bound traffic on Feller. Seconded by Groth. Carried by aye votes of Torgerson, Sommerfeldt, Mondor, Groth and Johnson. Norris Swager stated that the Swager Bros. would provide a Letter of Credit to cover the grading, utilities, engineering and legal costs for Swager's 5th Addition. He will meet wits City Attorney to determine the amount required. Clerk was directed to file plat with County.
