MINUTES OF MEETING HELD WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 26, 1984
Call to order at 7: 00 P.M. by Mayor Sommerfeldt. Present: O'Neal,
Carufel , Doerr, Seggelke, Vierling and Wilson. Absent: None.
Clerk read public hearing notice, presented affidavit of publication and
mailing list for conditional use permit request from Northern States
Power Company. Mayor called for comments and discussion ensued with
Mr. Jerry Wallace outlining the project for all present and answering
questions from the audience. O'Neal, seconded by Carufel, moved to
close the hearing. 5 aye votes . Hearing closed.
O' Neal, seconded by Doerr, moved to grant the conditional use permit
on the above request. Roll call taken with aye votes cast by Doerr,
Sommerfeldt, O'Neal and Carufel . Abstain by Seggelke. Permit granted.
Seggelke, seconded by Doerr, moved to authorize Chief Ostendorf to
finalize specifications for the 1985 Chevrolet squad car and proceed
with the purchase of the vehicle. Cost to be approximately $10 , 697. 00 .
5 aye votes. Carried.
Doerr, seconded by O' Neal, moved to adopt Resolution #84-12-43 hiring
Stanley Buckley and Michael Hausken as of January 1, 1985 on a full
time basis as police officers . Roll call vote taken with 5 ayes cast.
Resolution adopted.
Seggelke, seconded by O 'Neal, moved to approve payment of $1205.00
to Gartzke Construction as final payment on the 58th & 59th streets
water and sewer extensions project. 5 aye votes. Carried.
O 'Neal, seconded by Carufel, moved to grant City Attorney to proceed
with the terms of the judgment against Howard C. Johnson, et al .
5 aye votes . Carried.
Seggelke moved to adjourn the last meeting of the 1984 season. Seconded
by Carufel. 5 aye votes. Adjourned.
The Council would like to take this opportunity to thank Dick Seggelke
for his many years of service and dedication to the community.
