Eric,
You will recall that under statute we are required to have a Resolution acknowledging a gift and
accepting a gift for the City Council to pass. It would be appropriate that the Resolution include a
notation that the City has received an appraisal of the property indicating it has a value of $50,000.
Obviously that does not necessarily mean that the City believes that the value is $50,000, but Mr. Zintl
can use that for whatever purposes he has with the IRS.
Also, please note that now that we have sent the matter in for recording, you will be required to fill out
and provide to the County, before July 1, 2009, a statement that the property is being used for public
• purposes for siorinwater ponding, otherwise the Couinly will determine tax on the property aild send the
City a tax statement claiming an amount due from the City. I a juciy is iamliar with the process
and protocol to follow, and I am, by additional BCC to on the letter, notifyi her of the event as
well.
